Dead & Co at Dodger Stadium 7/7/18
John Mayer adds a lot to the band. Great guitar player, voice matches to Jerry's parts and highly animated/ Kudos to Magic Johnson and Dodger management, usually for a Dodgers game the parking lot and the venue are slightly "uptight" not on this night. It's as if Bill Walton asked Magic to "let the Dead fans be the Dead fans." Dancing and celebrations everywhere What a great vibe to see 20 somethings on the left and 60 somethings on the right getting their groove on. Tight band, great vibe. Making America Grateful Again, lots of fun!

Unforgettable show
Though John Mayer is not Jerry Garcia, he pulled it off. They still have the magic. Dodger stadium was definitely not suited for music. Not like Shoreline, but the band was great.

Dead & Co - Best show ever
Can honestly say that I have been to a good amount of concerns and Dead & Co 7/7/18 show at Dodger's stadium was the best show I have ever been to. Amazing song selection, but also importantly, the musicianship was amazing with extending soloing and improvisation and a high amount of energy throughout the entire show. I can see why people followed the Dead all over the country. Will definitely see Dead & Co whenever possible in the future. Highly recommended!

Dead and Company were great
Dead and Company may be the most talented group of musicians touring. I am a Grateful Dead fan but would not say I am a deadhead. I will go see John Mayer and the Dead every time they are in town. They are that good!!!

Dead and Company did not disappoint
I am not a big fan of concerts at baseball stadiums. With that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed Dead and Company at Dodger Stadium. The band was smokin’ and the set list was amazing.

The Dead Live
Dead & Co. proved again on July 7 that they are the best of the post-Jerry Garcia GD spin-offs, with a great setlist, beautiful playing (including an "Eyes of the World" for the ages), and a rare double encore (including a lovely "Breakdown Palace"). While the performsance rated 5 stars, my 3-star rating is for the venue: Dodger Stadium is far from an ideal cocert location. Last summer's Dead & Co. gig at the Hollywood Bowl was far more comfortable.

Dead & Co. review
Last nites Dead & Co. (July 7) show was one for the record books. Great weather (after it cooled down) huge Shakedown St scene prior to the show was anything you could ever want, amazing people and took my daughter, her boyfriend and another good friend to see their very first Dead show. Music was loose, powerful and epic. Vocals were better than I have heard in years. These guys were on fire and they knew it! They blew out of one song and straight into another just like years ago. It was a joy to listen to and a joy to watch.

Dead & Co. are Clicking on all Cylinders!!
This is the 4th year of this incarnation of the Grateful Dead and the gelling of talents and skills has crescendoed to a heightened level from where they started on Halloween @ MSG in NYC ( I saw 2 shows @ Bill Graham Civic Aud in SF in late Dec. and every tour since! ). The merging of the 3 younger players with the 3 original members has allowed for an evolution of compositions that has leaned on strong jazz, R & B, and blues influences. John’s ( Mayer ) playing is like lightening out of the bottle at this point. Jeff ( Chementi ) is killing it on the keys. Oteil ( Burbridge ) is grooving smoothly & singing more and more Jerry tunes. Bobby’s ( Weir ) voice is magnificent and his playing on target. Billy ( Kreutzman )& Mickey ( Hart ) continue to absolutely amaze on their drumming and percussion work. They are the molasses that binds the joys together. Collectively , the music is soulful and played by men who love all that the Dead represent. Robert Hunter’s & John Perry Batlow’s lyrics resonate with each listener/dancer as they touch one’s soul, if allowed , right where it is most needed. Solace, comfort , hope, coping with death and loss,...are all thematic torments of the music and story-telling. I was yet again thoroughly moved and touched by my 4 shows this year.

Amazing Show
D&C was absolutely amazing. They came out of the gate on fire, hotter than the Southern CA heatwave. A very, very strong show all the way through. The band was great, the crowd was great, the venue was wonderful. It was a little tough navigating leaving the show, through the Uber process, but it did work. The people working at the stadium were friendly, the stadium set up was good. Overall the event was well organized. One could not have asked for a better performance and at a classic venue.Awesome!
DEAD & COMPANY IN CONCERT:
Deadheads rejoice! The Grateful Dead have been reborn as Dead & Company, delivering all the groovy vibes and extended jams fans know and love. Longtime Dead members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, and Mickey Hart are joined by superstar singer/songwriter and accomplished blues guitarist John Mayer as they blend rock, folk, funk, jazz, and psychedelia to blow fans' minds with epic aural bliss. With their spacey instrumental interplay and awe-inspiring solos, the group organically weaves their way through audience favorites like "Truckin'", "Casey Jones", and "Fire on the Mountain". The long, strange trip is back on the road -- Dead & Company are bringing their positive energy and uncanny musical genius to ticket buyers everywhere.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The Grateful Dead were instrumental to the '60s psychedelic sound and hippie culture. Jerry Garcia (guitar/vocals), Bob Weir (guitar/vocals), Phil Lesh (bass/vocals), Bill Kreutzmann (drums), and Ron McKernan (keyboards/vocals) got things rolling in 1965. Excluding McKernan and Garcia, who died in 1973 and 1995 respectively, the core lineup has remained virtually unchanged sinc then. Many other musicians have helped shape the band’s sound as well, especially second drummer Mickey Hart, who joined the Dead in 1967. The band toured excessively throughout the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s, famously playing sets that exceeded the three-hour mark. After Garcia's death the group soldiered on, continuing to build their legacy through fearless sonic exploration. It was not until their 50th anniversary in 2015 that the Grateful Dead decided to retire their name. Fortunately for fans, their retirement was short-lived as pop singer/songwriter and blues guitarist extraordinaire John Mayer brought Weir, Hart, and Kreutzmann back out for more legendary jam sessions. Dead & Company continues in the Dead's spontaneous and inventive musical tradition -- just the way Deadheads like it.
