Dreamville Festival Live
North Carolina's Dreamville Festival is the preeminent festival destination for hip-hop and R&B fans. Tending to feature the biggest national acts and the best of hot, up-and-coming artists, Dreamville offers a flavorful combination of music and art while also providing fans with the best of local food, entertainment and culture. Founded and hosted by J. Cole (the innovative, Grammy-nominated artist, producer and hip-hop impresario), the Dreamville Festival is Cole's chance to give back to his native North Carolina. The festival takes place on the sprawling greens of Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, a short hour from Cole's Fayetteville, NC, hometown. The 300-acre park, the largest in Raleigh, provides a spectacular setting for locals and visiting music fans to gather in one of the city's most beautiful and historical locations. Special VIP services have included a beauty bar and barber, hookah bar, hammocks, massages and gaming truck, while select NC food vendors provided local eats (think BBQ and gourmet hot dogs, waffles and Italian ice).
Dreamville Festival History
Originally slated for a 2018 premiere, the Dreamville Festival had to be postponed a year due to damage from Hurricane Florence. When it debuted on April 6, 2019, the one-day, multi-stage event featured multi-platinum artists including SZA, Big Sean, Nelly and 21 Savage, who performed alongside J. Cole. The Dreamville Foundation, a nonprofit launched by J. Cole, provided aid for those affected by 2018's Hurricane Florence in his hometown of Fayetteville, and it continues to support nonprofits that offer services for the people of North Carolina. The thoughtfully curated festival also featured a bounty of young talent from J. Cole's own Dreamville record label, including Teyana Taylor, J.I.D, Saba, Earthgang, 6LACK, Bas and Ari Lennox. Many of the young artists have gone on to mainstream attention and success.
