a little disappointed
We went to the show last friday in Hartford. Xfinity Theatre is a great venue and a beautiful night for the show. We enjoyed the show but were really disappointed that Tedeschi Trucks still weren't out on stage at 10:00 with an 8 PM start. loved Marcus King band , Drive by Truckers were good but were honestly on too long for our liking. I'd much rather see Susan Tedeschi on her own or just Tedeschi Trucks on their own.

Disappointed
The sound system was so loud for the first 2 bands that the voices were distorted enough to be impossible to understand. The first band was great. The second was horrendous with their style not at all in keeping with the event. T/T didn't start until 9:30 and played roughly and hour before the encore. They were amazing as usual but that was too late to start and too short a set.

Carrying on the great American blues tradition
All three bands - The Marcus King Band, Drive By Truckers and the headlining act, The Tedeschi Trucks Band - were terrific. This was dubbed the "Wheels of Soul," tour. I am not all that familiar with any of their individual, original songs or albums but I am an old fan of the Allman Brothers Band and I know that TTB carries that blues, pop, rock, jazz fusion, never-stop-touring tradition onward and this night proved they do it very well. Covers included Sugaree (Jerry Garcia/Robert Hunter) and Angel from Montgomery (John Prine) and the rest of the unfamiliar songs were performed by consummate musicians. Derek Trucks is a great guitar player and his wife Susan Tedeschi is too and has an incredible alto singing voice similar to Bonnie Raitt's but she is younger (no offense Bonnie, I LOVE YOU!) and the pipes can blow! She was amazing. Marcus King, another incredible guitar player came out mid-TTB set and the three performed together - no singing, just blues riffing. TTB also had one of their (horn-?) section players sing a tune to mix it up some and old Jai Johanny Johanson from the Allman's was on hand to play one of the two drum kits - 74 years-young and still out there for us! These guys are good. Period.

Really good show, good venue
We were pleasantly surprised to find out that there were three bands performing at this show and it ended up being over 4 1/2 hours long!! We were also awarded with the surprise of Jaimoe playing drums for the full TTB show!!! Unfortunately, the sounds for the Marcus King Band and the Drive by Truckers was not very good. The high end was missing and the vocals were lost in the music. TTB sounded great, so I assume they held back the full sound system from the first two bands. The stage change overs were very quick and impressive to watch. All in all, a amazing show that I would recommend. Fortunately, the event was the first night of a break from a week long heat wave with high humidity so the open venue was comfortable.

very good show overall. TTB and MKB both great However the Drive By Truckers did not really seem to fit the Wheels of Soul theme

Loved it!
From the parking to concessions to the seats, we had a very good experience. Marcus King was a very good opener. Drive By Truckers were fun. Tedeschi Trucks brought down the house! Very awesome show!

Not That Good
I did not find this to be a really good concert. The opening acts were fair. Ted-trucks were alright, but not as good as I thought they would be.

Tedeschi-Trucks rocked as usual
Great nite for a show ( felt like an autumn nite ) 3 bands , 4 hours of music . Tedeschi ‘s voice still remarkable. Trucks was his usual entertaining self . Definitely worth seeing again !
Tedeschi Trucks Band is a 12-piece powerhouse ensemble led by the husband/wife duo of guitarist Derek Trucks and singer/guitarist Susan Tedeschi, "two of the best roots rock musicians of their generation" (NPR). With their own potent original songwriting alongside an extensive canon of influences, the dynamic all-star band owns a reputation for world-class musical expression bolstered by each album and every performance.
Since forming in 2010, TTB's caravan has traveled countless miles to bring their music to audiences around the world. From sold-out multi-night residencies across America to barnstorming tours through Europe and Japan to the flagship Wheels of Soul annual summer amphitheater tour, the band's shows are an eagerly anticipated highlight of the live music calendar and "nothing short of exhilarating" (Salon). Whether on stage or in the studio, when these supremely talented artists get together, it's a musical experience of profound quality.
