Acclaimed jazz vibraphonist Warren Wolf is a master of the unique instrument, dazzling listeners with his virtuosic technique and phenomenal range both on record and in concert. At his live shows Wolf skitters up and down the keys with the agility of an acrobat, transitioning seamlessly between beautifully melancholic passages and frenetic up-tempo riffs to deliver an incredibly dynamic concert experience. BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Baltimore, MD-born Warren Wolf began playing the vibraphone, marimba, piano, and drums at age three under the tutelage of his musician father. He continued his studies at Baltimore School of the Arts before moving to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music. During his time at Berklee he was immersed in Boston's jazz scene, making a name for himself as the house drummer at the legendary Wally's Cafe. Following his return to Baltimore in 2005 Wolf remained active on the international scene touring with luminaries like Karriem Riggins and Bobby Watson. In 2011 he made his debut as a band leader with an acclaimed self-titled album that featured Christian McBride, Peter Martin, and Greg Hutchinson. Following extensive touring with his band Wolfpack, Wolf returned to the studio in 2013 to record his sophomore album Wolfgang. The release was a another success, drawing him out on a tour that earned praise from critics and jazz fans alike. A rare talent who stands among the vibraphone's most respected masters, Wolf continues to wow with passionate, technically stunning performances on tour.
