BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Alonzo Bodden grew up in Queens, NY and discovered a knack for comedy in his late '20s while working as an aviation mechanic in Los Angeles. After teaching a class in aerospace mechanics and unearthing his talent for public speaking and making people laugh, he quit his job and decided to pursue comedy professionally. After years performing on the club circuit around Los Angeles and working as a doorman at the Laugh Factory, he was invited to join the Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. In 2004 he caught his big break on the second season of NBC's Last Comic Standing, where he finished as the runner-up. Following the release of his critically acclaimed comedy DVD Tall, Dark, And Funny, Bodden returned to the show the following seasons and cinched the championship. He has since acted in TV roles on Showtime's Californication and ABC's The Neighbors, co-hosted Inside The Vault on WGN America, and appeared on late night shows including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Conan O'Brien. He is also a frequent guest on The Adam Carolla Show, a panelist on the NPR news quiz Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me!, and a comedic panelist on the Game Show Network's Mind of A Man. Among his recorded releases are the 2010 concert special Who's Paying Attention? and the 2013 standup CD He Had Me At Black.
