Beth Hart was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA, where she began playing the club scene in her early twenties. In 1993 she made several appearances on Ed McMahon's Star Search, going on to win the season's Female Vocalist prize thanks to her emotive voice and heart-on-sleeve performances. That same year she released her debut album Beth Hart and the Ocean of Souls, an auspicious collection of songs that featured the fan favorite "Am I the One". She put together a band for 1996's Immortal, and in 1999 the lineup achieved breakthrough success with the album Screaming for My Supper. The record's lead single "LA Song (Out of This Town)" cracked the Top 5 on the soft rock charts and reached No. 1 in New Zealand. Hart continued to work with a rotating lineup of musicians on subsequent releases including 2003's Leave the Light On and 2007's 37 Days. In 2013 she and Joe Bonamassa topped the Blues Albums chart with Seesaw, a critically acclaimed collaboration that earned a Best Blues Album nomination at the 2014 Grammy Awards.
