Buddy Guy - this show was transcendent
Buddy came out with more energy than guitar players 1/4 his age. And like fine whiskey he just gets better with age. Of course he played his standards from earlier albums with soaring solos and a band that is absolutely tight. The new songs from the album released in June this year sounded amazing. I've seen Buddy four times in the last two year yet my mind was thoroughly blown at this show at the Moore theatre. I highly recommend the new album and if you have a chance to see Buddy live, make ever effort as it will be more than worth it.

Buddy Guy still doing it
I first saw Buddy Guy when he opened for Jimi Hendrix. I was not well acquainted with Buddy's music at that point and I just felt bad anyone had to open for Hendrix. But Buddy just blew me away, walking out into the orchestra, interacting with the audience, just playing his heart out. I had come to see Hendrix but left with immense respect for Buddy and his ability to put on an amazing set. Well nothing has changed. Buddy brings it to every show I have had the pleasure of seeing him do. If you appreciate master guitar playing you owe it to yourself to see him, and preferably at a very intimate setting like the Wellmont Theater. Excellent Show!

Buddy Guy performs from his heart & soul with his guitar extending his inner electricity. always a thrill, but basically the same show every time for the past few years.

Fantastic show!
Buddy Guy is always the best, and with the addition of special guest, Bobby Rush, made it an unforgettable show. Don't miss this if it comes around. Two legends, ages 81 and 85, who have the energy of people 1/3 their age! As well as the virtuosity that comes from really having a passion for what you do. Best show I've been to in a long time and just amazing to see because of their ages. Mick Jagger has nothing on these guys :)

Awesome
Buddy Guy can play that guitar like he was in his 40s at almost 82. The Ben Miller band was excellent also.

Great Nite's Music!
I really came out to see the opener Ben Miller Band. I saw them open for ZZ Top some years back and followed them till they came back. They are really fresh and rock. Of course ... Buddy Guy was great as always. He's just pure raw blues. Great voice and delivers soulful slower and smoother sounds as well as rockin' old blues. Just a fun night. P.S. What's up with people in the back fist fighting, taking on security too.
It says all you need to know about Buddy Guy that the music genre that he has come to embody, the Chicago Blues, could never hope to contain him. In the more than 55 years since the Louisiana moved to Chicago and embarked on one of the most influential careers a guitarist could ever hope for (just ask Eric Clapton), Guy is still pushing the envelope of his artistry. But what is remarkable about this Rock N' Roll Hall of Famer is that he isn't sacrificing an iota of his relevancy while doing so. Guy proves it not just in concerts that are as high energy now as they were when he was heralding a rock guitar revolution in the 1960's, but also on the charts. His 2010 musical autobiography-of-sorts Living Proof was the blues legend's highest carting record to date, while his 2013 double disk follow up Rhythm and Blues was #1 on the Blues chart and showed 77-year-old to be every bit the firecracker as guest stars Kid Rock and Arrowsmith. If his last few decades have proven anything, it's that a ticket to a Buddy Guy concert isnÕt simply a tour through blues history, but an opportunity to see a genre's foremost practitioner still at the top of his game, with as much to say as ever has.
