Bio
Chris Urriola is an indie rock artist who is set to release his first full-length LP.
A bassist by trade, Chris Urriola fine-tuned his guitar-playing and allowed his songwriting to develop with the creation of his two critically-acclaimed EP's, Illustrator & Elemental. It all began with a chance opportunity arriving at South First Sound in Brooklyn with his band Hollis Brown which had brought about an idea; “let’s make this happen, let’s make an EP.”
The sessions were akin to an old Motown Session. The musicians, all friends & past bandmates of Chris’ arrived to be taught the tunes, ad-lib and all. By the third or fourth take, the energy would be captured by Sean Walsh of The National Reserve and they would have a print.
Overall, 30 or so demos have been created and the feeling of choosing the tune that works next, Chris says; “is a luxury, a garden of creative energy.”
