Love him!
My husband, who hates "to be read to," laughed so hard he cried. Can't wait for David's next reading!

David Great! 5 Star. Sound was terrible! 0 stars
This place shouldn’t ever have spoken word. David’s voice was so washed out I could barely understand him..

Great!
I loved seeing and hearing David Sedaris! Recommend going early, and bring or buy one of his books so you can have it signed. He’s creative and sometimes silly, and it gives you an extra experience from the event.

I'm still laughing days later
Reading David Sedaris's essays, I'm laughing at almost every single line. When that is coupled with his unique speaking voice, I was laughing so hard I only heard every other line! I'm sorry to those sitting around me. His newest material is some of his best. The Eastern European insults essay is absolutely hilarious. This is the third time I've seen him. We bring even more friends each time. Even though it's getting harder and harder to get out on a "school night", it's worth it every time. The Long Beach Performing Art Center is a great venue. The sound was a little echo-y (we were in the third row), but that's the only complaint. The line moved quickly for the bar and bathroom, and there was a little picnic area in the front where one could enjoy some libations. Bottom line: GO SEE DAVID SEDARIS! ANYWHERE!!

Funny but very crude
He was very funny but didn't need to dive into the potty over and over. My overall feeling when I left (and the group of 12 people who were with me) was that he got too crude too often and it was unnecessary. We are not prudes and are okay with cussing, etc. but this was over the top in terms of the references to excrement, etc. I have heard him before at the same venue and was excited to go back but I won't go again if he returns.

LAUGH OUT LOUD FUNNY
The show was hysterically funny. The material was fresh and the delivery was hilarious.
DAVID SEDARIS ON TOUR:
Beloved humorist and perennial New York Times best-seller David Sedaris has been bringing his signature self-deprecation to both the page and the stage ever since his comic debut in the late-'70s. Sedaris's live shows are equal parts touching and uproarious, taking his childhood trials and tribulations as a starting point and going on to tackle everything from his eccentric family to American politics. Fans of witty, irony-laden anecdotes are in for a treat as Sedaris hits concert halls around the country with his latest show An Evening with David Sedaris.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born to a large family in Binghamton, NY, Sedaris experienced a turbulent childhood that has informed his comedy ever since. After being discovered at a Chicago comedy club in the late '70s by Ira Glass, Sedaris began appearing regularly on Glass's weekly radio program The Wild Room, making a name for himself with his wry, self-effacing stories . In 1992 he made his National Public Radio debut with a reading of "SantaLand Diaries", a hilarious recounting of his days working as a holiday elf at a department store. Since then he has been a regular guest on NPR's This American Life, landed on the New York Times Best Seller list with five essay collections, and received a Grammy nod for his 2004 comedy album Live at Carnegie Hall. Back on tour, the ever-gracious Sedaris will treat fans to another round of laughs at his expense.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"We expected it to be great and he exceeded our expectations. I have not laughed so much in ages. Wonderful! "
"I laughed so much I almost missed what was being send in between punch lines! He has a true gift and I'm so grateful he shares it with the world on these tours! Hands down worth every penny!"
"The best part is that for everyone who has read all of his published work, the shows are always full of new material that has yet to be published; so, it never feels like you've paid just to hear a reading of something that's on bookstore shelves."
