PLEASE DELETE WHAT YOU HAVE AS A NICKNAME. I HAVE NO NICKNAME. Thank you. I loved the Lion King Performance. It was my third time to see it in the last 35-40 years, and I appreciated the modernizing and contemporary modifications.

The Lion King was very good. The actors had excellent speaking and singing abilities and the costumes were extraordinary.

The stage play is so much more than the movie.

I love the costumes and the way the actors bring their particular animals to life through their movements and the choreography. I love the way the stage sets bring the African savanna to life. I love the music that has a haunting, African feel. See this play, not for the story that is familiar to all, but for the staging. My one regret is that the stage at Dallas Music Hall is not larger.

Just saw the Dallas Summer Musical presentation of LION King and it was spectacular! We were in the upper balcony and the sound was amazing.

Poor Cast

Let me start by saying visually, the set and costumes were beautiful. The first song was magical and then... the show slowly became torture. My husband and I see shows 1-2 times a month and have NEVER been this disappointed before. Being a show that many have RAVED about, we were very excited to see it, but had reasonable expectations. Bottom line, the cast must have had a bad night and it SHOWED! To start, the majority of the cast was replaced with the I understudies, which is a little disappointing. At first I thought this was okay because I have seen many shows where the understudy did OUTSTANDING. This was certainly not the case. The chorus line was never in sync, the actors voices were breaking, pitchy, and off key (caveat, Napa was FANTASTIC), and I think at one point the actors even forgot their lines. It was a disaster. It was certainly not worth half of the $250 I paid for tickets. It felt very amateur... not the caliber you expect from a touring Broadway show. Hopefully this was just an off night, but I will NOT recommend this show to anyone.

The show and the venue were both great. My one and only complaint is the small children allowed in. We sat next to a three year old that her Father had to literally explain every scene to. She was loud, the Father was loud and the talking resumed throughout the entire show. It was rude and disrespectful and took away so much of mine and my families enjoyment for this. I understand it’s based on a children’s show, but I do believe there should be an age restriction. Or, set some shows that are presented for adults only - or even children 12 and up. The child next to me was disturbing to not only myself and our row but the surrounding rows around us. A very spectacular show could have been even more amazing without this interruption throughout its entirety.
