Very good show
We took our son and our grandchildren (12 & 13) to see Lion King at the Dallas Summer Musicals. It was their first time to see a live musical on stage, and they thought it was awesome - the sound, the colors, the puppets, costumes, and music. However, my husband and I had difficulty understanding the actors’ lines and words to the songs as the music was so loud, it overpowered them. It was a very good show, but we left disappointed.

Doesn’t live up to the hype...
I will say that the sets, costumes, and stage design is amazing. That’s the only reason I’d recommend for anyone to see this once. As far as the production, there were a couple of issues. The first was that the music that’s not in the movie that they do in the stage production is not good. It’s just boring and blah. There are no musical numbers that showcase anyone’s voice or range. The second issue with the performance I attended was almost all the main cast was an understudy and it showed. Their voices just weren’t show quality, and after paying $200 a ticket for seven of us to attend, I expected much better talent. I’d put it at the equivalent of what you might see on a cruise ship.

I loved every second
The Lion King was amazing! It brought me to tears multiple times from being so beautiful! I attended an early afternoon show that was filled with young children, but the usher staff did a fantastic job at asking distracting families to step out rather than disturb those around them. I highly recommend seeing this again if possible!

Excellent show in an excellent venue
The Lion King Broadway traveling musical is one of the best live musicals that I have seen in my life. Not only were the actors phenomenal, but so were the costumes and set design. So elaborate and well thought out. I really appreciated how the musical did not deviate from the original Lion King story line. I took my six year old daughter to watch it with me and she enjoyed it equally as well. We had seats in the balcony almost at the very back of the venue and still had a great view! I would definitely see it again!

Lion King was awesome.
Get there early, the place gets really busy. They are limited on bathroom’s at Fair Park in Dallas so be aware of that. The show however was really amazing. The music was great, a couple songs they changed and that was slightly annoying, and they had a little incident with the curtain but overall it was phenomenal! I’d go again in a heart beat!
