Duane Betts Live in Concert
Growing up in Sarasota, Florida, Duane Betts had always been heavily involved in music. His dad was a founding member of The Allman Brothers Band and allowed Betts to explore his musical talents at an early age.
Betts picked up the guitar at 12 years old, but it didn't take long before he found his way to the stage. While he was 16, he had the opportunity to join The Allman Brothers Band onstage at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater and even made an appearance at Woodstock 94.
Throughout his 20s, Betts was part of several successful bands, including Backbone69 and Whitestarr. However, it wasn't until his father asked him to join the band, Great Southern, that Betts really found his foothold in the industry, touring nationally and internationally. He stayed with the band until his father's retirement in 2014.
Post-Great Southern, Betts went on to play guitar in several bands until December 2018, when he formed The Allman Betts Band. Duane Betts released several albums with his bandmates, including Down to the River and Bless Your Heart. In 2022 the band decided to take a hiatus, and Betts started working on solo music.
