EarthGang on Tour
An EarthGang show is a mix of rowdy energy and intimate lyrical displays. Taking inspiration from rock bands, EarthGang have an explosive live presence, and it's honed by years of hard touring. The band opened Ab-Soul's massive These Days tour in 2014, Mac Miller's GO:OD AM tour in 2015, Bas' Too High to Riot tour in 2016 and the European leg of J. Cole's 4 Your Eyez Only tour in 2017. At the end of that year, EarthGang headlined their own Never Had Sh!t tour with J.I.D, hitting Europe the following year. In 2018, EarthGang opened the second leg of emerging superstar Billie Eilish's 1 By 1 tour. EarthGang launched their own What on Earth tour across Europe followed by a 2019 North American trek to support their major-label debut, Mirrorland.
EarthGang in Concert
Hip-hop duo EarthGang combine the dizzying rhymes and off-kilter beats of 1990s Southern rap with the youthful energy and tireless grind of contemporary Atlanta. Rappers Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot met in high school in Atlanta, and recorded their debut mixtape — 2010's The Better Party — while attending the historically black college Hampton University. Their 2013 self-released full-length Shallow Graves for Toys was the first release to bear the name of their collective Spillage Village, which has also produced hip-hop hitmakers like 6lack and fellow Dreamville Records signees J.I.D and Lute. The album's success found the group working with rappers like Mac Miller, OG Maco and J. Cole. In 2017, the group signed to Cole's Dreamville Records and released three EPs executive-produced by the rapper — 2017's Rags and Robots alongside 2018's Royalty. On the three releases, the group was joined by Mick Jenkins, SiR, Childish Major, Ari Lennox and more. In 2019, the duo's major-label debut Mirrorland landed in the Top 40 and features performances from Young Thug, T-Pain, Kehlani and more.
