ENTER SHIKARI IN CONCERT:
For more than a decade, British band Enter Shikari has been slaying audiences with their adrenaline-filled blend of metalcore and electronica. In concert the furious foursome hammer out high-octane cuts like "Anaesthetist" and "Sorry You're Not a Winner" with savage intensity, alternating between melodic passages and growling hardcore breakdowns to deliver a dynamic live experience punctuated with real-time electronic manipulations. From the band's blistering riffs and amped-up showmanship to the frenetic mosh pit that inevitably arises, there's always plenty to get ticket buyers thrashing at Enter Shikari's hair-raising live shows.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Enter Shikari formed in 2003 when the St. Albans, UK band Hybrid -- a trio who had been playing together since 1999 -- added a fourth member and took on a new name. The newly minted quartet hit the ground running, releasing three demo EPs in 2003-2004 and building a considerable fanbase with a blitz of live shows. By 2006 they were climbing the UK Singles Chart with hard-hitting tracks like "Mothership" and "Sorry You're Not a Winner", and in 2007 they released their long-awaited debut album Take to the Skies. The album peaked at No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart, reaching Gold certification and leading to high-profile sets at festivals like Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds. Their next two albums -- 2009's Common Dreads and 2012's A Flash Flood of Colour -- fared similarly, both cracking the Top 20 and drawing the band out for extensive touring, bringing venues like the Varsity Theater to capacity. Enter Shikari's electrifying live shows have earned them numerous awards over the years, including two Kerrang! Awards for Best Live Band and an NME Reader's Poll for Best Live Act at Reading and Leads Festivals 2012. With their fourth album The Mindsweep already generating buzz in 2015, Enter Shikari show no signs of slowing down.
