Erik Griffin on Tour
A seasoned veteran of iconic stand-up stages and the Comedy Central hit Workaholics, Erik Griffin delivers sharp and savvy insights about race, sex and society with a wit and exuberance that's all his own. Growing up in Los Angeles with his single mother from Belize gave Griffin a unique perspective on America, something he's been eager to share with audiences ever since he became a full-time comic in 2003. Honing his craft over years as a nationally touring comedian, he came to wider attention thanks to appearances on such TV showcases as Comedy Central's Live at Gotham, NBC's Last Comic Driving and Showtime's Comics Without Borders. Comedy fans can catch Erik Griffin at live appearances in clubs and theaters throughout the U.S. and on his podcast, Riffin with Griffin.
Who is Erik Griffin?
Erik Griffin made his first foray into stand-up via a UCLA comedy class and student showcase at the legendary Comedy Store in Los Angeles. After several fits and starts, he committed full-time to the performer's life in 2003, honing his craft at open mics before gaining prominence as a national touring act.
Early TV and film appearances led to his first major acting role as Montez Walker in the Comedy Central series Workaholics. In addition to becoming a fan favorite during the show's seven-year run, he could be seen on such series as Arrested Development, You're The Worst and Adam Ruins Everything. Griffin also found success as an actor in such films as Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates and TV series like Netflix's One Day at a Time and FX's You're the Worst. Subsequent film credits included the Adam Sandler comedy Murder Mystery and Bad Therapy. His recent Showtime special, Amerikan Warrior, premiered in 2018.
In 2013, Griffin released his first stand-up album, Technical Foul: Volume One, and recorded his first half-hour special for Comedy Central. In 2017, Showtime premiered his first hour-long special, Erik Griffin: The Ugly Truth. It was followed in 2018 by Amerikan Warrior, another showcase of Griffin's stand-up skills and sharp take on life in America. He can also be heard on Riffin with Griffin, his podcast for the ATC (All Things Comedy) network.
