Horrible treatment at the convention center
I haven't been here in over 10 years. Last time there were no metal detectors to enter convention center this year we stood for hours trying to get i in the heat. Having to hold the heavy door open while waiting we just left.

Essencefest Sound
The sound quality of the whole show in the dome was garbage. You could never hear the singers and your ears ringing. Somehow Janet Jackson’s sound was on point. The rest of the time it was crappy and I wish I could get back the $1500 I spent on tickets for the weekend.

A few disappointments. Didn’t come to hear Snoop sing gospel. Queen Latifah put everyone to sleep. Think I’ll stick to Superlounge performances. Because traffic is horrific will probably pick one night at Essence and so day parties.

It was an awesome lineup every night! However, the sound guy needed to be replaced after Friday didn’t go so well. It’s already bad when the audience noticed, but it’s even worse when the artist looks awkward on the giant screen because the mic is not working.

Sound system sucked!!!
I think when a person pays so much money to see an event at such a big event the sound system should be on point not the case at this event every night they had trouble with the sounds you could not understand the singers at all (pitiful)

All the acts incredible
The sound system was horrible it ruined the performances. Teddy Reilly even stopped his performance and started a chant to the sound system to fix it.

Disappointed
It’s beautiful to see so many powerful women of color. I was hoping to gain some Empowerment knowledge for my business, but it was difficult at the convention center. The SuperDome Mainstage sound system didn’t do it for me, but the SuperLounge was nice. I am a firm believer that “People Like What They Like” But if you want to party and hangout this Is Great! Very Expensive!

Poorly organized- caused us to miss performance
While the actual performances by the artists were incredible, the organization of the event was horrible. My friends and I arrived approximately 1 hour prior to the start of the concert on Friday, excited to see Miguel. after standing in line for 30 minutes, we were told we could not use our electronic tickets and our only option was to pick up tickets from will call. We then were forced to wait in a new will call line that was complete chaos. We wait for over 1.5 hours to receive out tickets. The system was disorganized, the technology was outdated, and the worst part was we missed the performance we were excited to see. Instead of enjoying the show, we listened to Miguel from the street while pressed against strangers in the heat. We had traveled from all over the country to be together and missing the performance for no good reason was a huge disappointment.
