I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the line up, but the sound system, speakers or microphones were HORRIBLE. The acoustics were horrifically OFF and you couldn't understand ANY of the artists words. If it wasn't a hit pitch squeal, then everything was muffled or the music kept going in and out. For the money we paid for those seats they should REALLY think about doing better sound checks or get a better sound check crew!!!!

AMAZING 3 DAYS

The Essence Festival is a must do!!! Three days of good food, music, networking, and that great New Orleans hospitality with people from ALL over the world!

So many artists I can’t say one was more than the other especially since they all gave a great show

Awesome lineup!

My main concerns are (stadium) seating is VERY tight and the steps were very steep. One side was obviously steeper than the other for the section I was seated in. Several people almost fell. There should probably be some type of warning or disclaimer about the size of the seats when purchasing tickets. They are extremely tight and uncomfortable. Overall, the performances were AWESOME!!!

Room for improvement!!

The Essence Festival is an amazing event that brings people of color together peacefully. Music is a way of expressing the black culture positively. I believe there should be some type of reward system, making it feasible to enjoy and experience more.

Great artists, great performances for a great price!

The gospel session was fabulous

The show and all the performers were great! The Roots did the dang thing along with Erika and Jill!

It was well planned, had a good lineup of guests, and all 3 nights felt like a party. The sound system needed a lot work, it sounded horrible at some points which is easy to do in a stadium. You really need the best sound experts to provide good sound for live music in a stadium. I've yet to go to a concert in a stadium that didn't have some kind of echo which takes away from a good sound system for me

Awesome Night!!!

Missy Elliot turned it out!!!! Ginuwine and Keith Sweat were good too. All these artists were a surprise!!! I hope to see Missy Elliot next year at the event. Guy, Blackstreet, and Teddy Riley were awesome!!!
