BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
In 2009 six members from two different Los Angeles-based reggae bands -- Rudeboy Roots and Irie State of Mind -- teamed up to form the supergroup Fortunate Youth. They made their recording debut with the 2010 EP Up-Lifted before releasing their first full-length album, 2011's Irie State Of Mind. In 2012 they toured heavily alongside acts including The Expendables, Tribal Seeds, Dirty Heads, and The Wailers, earning a reputation as a must-see live band. A year later they released their critically acclaimed sophomore album It's A Jam, a rootsy collection of reggae tracks with that rose to No. 1 on Billboard's Reggae Charts and iTunes' Reggae Charts. With a new album in the works and a rapidly growing fanbase, Fortunate Youth continue to deliver joyous and unmissable live performances.
