HONNE IN CONCERT:
British future soul duo Honne has been steadily on the rise ever since their lusty debut single "Warm on a Cold Night" first heated up the blogosphere back in 2014. Since then they've released a handful of stellar EPs and become critical darlings in the UK while also building a loyal international fanbase with their sultry sound and seductive live performances. In concert core duo Andy (vocals) and James (producer) are joined by a full band, and the expanded lineup adds new dimension to sleek electronic tracks like "Coastal Love" and "All The Value" with live drums, bass, and backing vocals. Holding it all together is Andy's tender croon, a disarming force of nature that can make even the biggest venues feel like a dimly lit hideaway. Equal parts minimal and funky, Honne strike up a romantic groove every time they perform, leaving fans with a warm feeling— no matter how cold the night.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Andy and James met at university in the early '10s and started writing music together as Honne, a Japanese word meaning "real intention." They made their debut in late 2014 with a pair of EPs released on Super Recordings (the same label that launched Bondax and AlunaGeorge), and by 2015 they were selling out venues throughout London. Following the release of their third EP Coastal Love, which the pair released on their own label Tatamae Recordings in mid-2015, Andy and James put together a backing band and hit the summer festival circuit. The expanded lineup wowed fans at major fests like Great Escape, Field Day, and Latitude, drumming up major excitement for the mid-2016 release Honne's full-length debut album Warm On A Cold Night.
