HRVY In Concert
The multi-talented HRVY has had a number of titles and accolades to his name — and that's just in his teenage years. Harvey Leigh Cantwell was born in Kent, England, in 1999. It didn't take long for the young Harvey to discover his love for music, and also find out he's got quite the ear and voice for it himself. He idolized pop stars like Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, and Craig David, and was inspired by the many cover artists on YouTube. Naturally, he began to upload videos of his own covers and performances, and it didn't take long for him to get noticed by just the right person.
Cantwell's big year came in 2013 when he was approached by manager Blair Dreelan (former lead singer of 1990s U.K. boy band East 17), who set him up with his first live shows and helped him sign a record deal with Universal. Taking the vowels out of his first name, Harvey officially became HRVY, and released his first single, "Thank You," which would reach No. 73 on the U.K. charts. Over the next few years, he'd focus on honing his live performance and his onscreen skills. In 2014, he supported girl group Little Mix for their Salute tour. He also appeared as a guest presenter on BBC's Friday Download TV show, which eventually led to a full-time hosting gig in 2016.
Soon enough, HRVY would get back to focusing on his own music, starting with the release of his debut EP, Holiday, in 2017, including tracks with guest stars like LMFAO's Redfoo and electro/reggae singer Stylo G. Only a few months later, he'd release his next EP, Talk to Ya, which features hit single "Personal." In 2018, he joined forces with Cuban American singer Malu Trevejo for the sizzling, Latin-infused "Hasta Luego." That spring, he headed out on tour with The Vamps, whom he's also supporting in 2019 for their Four Corners Arena tour.
