Great venue, great people. Very friendly staff. All of that is negated by the fact that the grandstand is not opened in time for early practices. You cannot see anything from the fan walk area. It was this reason that we did not come to the track on Saturday and instead went to Prairie Meadows for a day of horse racing.

Racing for true racing fans.

By being a small venue somehow away from big cities, Iowa Speedway becomes a place for true race fans. You can see the entire oval from almost any point in the grandstand, so you don't miss anything throughout the race. It is the most racing you can see for the small ticket price! At the other hand there are no major activities and/or entertainment at the event. No museums, no displays, no face painting, very little selection of food, and so on. It still can be very entertaining for the whole family, but racing at Iowa Speedway is mostly for race fans who want to watch racing without all the other elements added at bigger venues. By being myself a big race fan but not a crowd's person, this was the best place to watch an entire race in every detail, without all the people going to this events just to eat, play, and fill up the place while not really interested in the event itself. And I was surprised at how clean the place was after the race ended...before the cleaning crews began their work! I would definitely recommend Iowa Speedway to true race fans since it is a place to get the most racing for the money, while I would not recommend it to people who wants a party-like event since this one could be easily considered boring and with not much to do. Iowa Speedway is a great place for racing, but a boring place to party! I would have added videos to this review, but the system only allow to upload from YouTube, and my videos are in my computer; I don't post in YouTube. Definitely the system for reviews needs improvements!

Iowa Speedway Indy Car race

My first visit to Iowa Speedway and I give it 5 stars. The staff I interacted with were nice, friendly and helpful and the facility is easy to navigate. I sat in Section 205 and the view I had was great as you can see every part of the track. The staff also made it easy to park and exit the track. The only concession item I purchased was a bottle of water and the $4 price is comparable to other sporting venues. I only have two suggestions that could improve the fan experience. One, on top of the grandstands, research to see if it would be feasible and practical to install see-through mesh barriers that extend above the railing. This way the breeze can still come through the mesh but the mesh may provide some shade to upper rows. Two, down on the concourse areas, please explore the option of erecting more shade structures and the use of portacool type machines there and under the grandstands to help the fans cool down when needed.

Iowa Speedway Fastest Short Track on the Planet!

The facility was amazing, all seats are good. Parking was a breeze, as was getting in and out. Staff were friendly, kind and courteous, really liked the tram rides to the infield. Lots for all ages to do, place was exceptionally clean. Only disappointment, food was NOT good. The ear of corn with the nacho stuff on it was dried out and the wrap sandwich was inedible.The outside wrap was complete mush. Still had a good time that day, and the race was awesome.

Race was great. Facilities so- so

Racing was great but there is nothing to do before or after the race. Very few vendors of merchandise. Lot fewer food vendors compared to previous years and little if any entertainment. we looked at everything available in less than 1 hour. Just glad the racing was good. My Advice go 45 minutes before race starts and leave directly after.

Great short track - Great racing! Everything about the Iowa Motor Speedway is first class. It’s a grea facility wth great FREE parking, bathroom facilities and consesion stands. Spectators can see the great racing on the entire track.

We had a great time at Iowa Speedway. The race was great but also the seating and parking were easy.

Good race poor track policies

Once you go into the track you can't go back to the midway without dumping your food or drinks when you go back in. The sponsor was the Iowa corn producers. Sunday they handed out corn but you couldn't take it into the track. Crazy. You buy bottled water in the track and go back out to the midway you have to pour your water out before you come back in.
