JARREN BENTON IN CONCERT:
Up-and-coming Atlanta rapper Jarren Benton has emerged as a leftfield hip hop force to be reckoned with, impressing fans with his heavy beats, aggressive flow, and intense live performances. XXL Magazine included Benton in their highly coveted Freshman Class of 2014, and it's easy to see why -- Benton's eerie productions and bizarre lyrical imagery recall recent breakout stars like Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, the Creator. Whether he's spitting fire on "Skitzo" or getting ticket buyers bouncing with "Go Off", Benton is a rowdy and dynamic performer who always holds nothing back at his adrenaline-filled shows.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in the small Georgia town of Decatur and raised in Atlanta, Jarren Benton started rapping at an early age, spitting rhymes he describes as "kind of whack" before finding his sound and making a name for himself in the ATL's underground hip hop scene. He made his debut in 2009 with Jarren Benton: The Mixtape, a Beatgods-produced collection that showcased his rapid-fire flow and whip-smart lyrics. His reputation reached new heights between 2010-2014 with cheekily titled mixtapes like 2011's Huffing Glue with Hasselhoff and 2012's Freebasing with Kevin Bacon, as well as a 54-date international tour with Hopsin, Dizzy Wright, and SwizZz. In 2013 Benton released his debut full-length album My Grandma's Basement, a Top 20 hit on both the Rap and R&B/Hip-Hop charts that impressed critics and earned him a spot on XXL Magazine’s 2014 Freshman Class. Since then Benton has continued to earn fans with his fiery showmanship and heavy-hitting tracks on tour.
