Jeremy Piven On Tour
Jeremy Piven has played many roles and had many achievements in his four-decade career in entertainment. But when it comes to stand-up comedy, he wants audiences to know he's "all in." That's been the performer's attitude since he returned to the stages of clubs and theaters in 2018 with a high-energy, quick-witted act that's a testament to Piven's deep roots in the comedy world.
Long before Piven was cutting deals and berating assistants as Ari Gold on the HBO hit Entourage, he was cutting his teeth as a performer at Second City. Born into a theater family in Chicago, Piven developed his improv and sketch skills at the comedy institution before becoming a member of Second City's touring company. He got many more opportunities to show off his wit in breakout acting appearances, which included his recurring role opposite Garry Shandling on The Larry Sanders Show and stints on such iconic sitcoms as Seinfeld and Ellen. Along with turns in Hollywood hits like Old School and Very Bad Things, he gave some highly memorable onscreen support to his longtime friend John Cusack in films like Grosse Pointe Blank.
With the debut of Entourage in 2004, Piven became one of the most honored actors on television, scoring three Emmys and one Golden Globe for his performance as the hot-tempered Hollywood agent. Yet Piven still made time for live performances, including his first-ever appearance as a stand-up at Montreal's Just for Laughs festival in 2008. In 2017, he showed off his dramatic skills when he led the cast of the CBS drama Wisdom of the Crowd.
Piven's foray into stand-up was inspired by the excitement he felt while preparing for a charity show in Los Angeles co-hosted by Russell Peters. The Canadian comedy superstar was so impressed by the determination and intelligence that Piven showed in developing his material, Peters encouraged him to create an act that really demonstrated what he can do. Following his successful run of dates in clubs and theaters in the U.S. and Canada in 2018 - along with recent shows in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv - Piven returns for a new run of stand-up shows.
