Mac Sabbath emerged from the Los Angeles underground metal scene in 2014. The exact origins of the band remain a mystery – members Ronald Osbourne (vocals), Slayer MacCheese (guitar), GrimAlice (bassist), and Catburgler (drums) choose to keep their true identities a secret. Soon after forming, the band went viral when metal blogs Loudwire and Metal Injection ran features about their parodies of "Children of the Grave" ("Chicken for the Slaves") and "Iron Man" ("Frying Pan"). Their novelty success quickly turned into cult devotion as fans and critics alike praised the group's energetic and humorous live shows. They gained international traction after touring England in 2015, which culminated in an appearance at that year's Download Festival alongside KISS, Judas Priest, and Mötley Crüe.
