Matthew Hannon is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and composer.
As part of Boston�s premier alt-country trio, Foxy Grandpa, Hannon presented songs that were loud, raucous, and equal parts sincere and tongue-in-cheek. Now, he�s showing his softer side, with sweeter, gentler songs inspired by the work of Elliott Smith and Conor Oberst as well as the homespun early work of Car Seat Headrest, Todd Rundgren, and Paul McCartney.
He has released one solo album under the artist name Barren Pines, recorded entirely by himself, and is currently finishing production on a follow-up, to be released under his own name.
