Great as always!
The price may seem expensive but to see Rod Stewart at a concert alone would cost much more. He was incredible. Loved the tribute to Fats Domino and Bonnie Raitt.

Great Shows / Outstandindg Weather
What a line up. The Fats Domino Tribute was outstanding. So were many of the other tributes. Sting, Rod Stewart, David Byrne and Bonnie Raitt rocked it (too bad she has a medical issue which has caused her to cancel the next leg of her tour). Too many other great talents to name them al, however Yvette Landry, Chubby Carrier, Andrew Duhon, Magnificent 7, George Benson, Jack Johnson, Alex and the Samuri and Kim Carson amongst others were really outstanding. Food is sooooo good I don't venture out after the day is over to any of the local eateries.

2018 new orleans jazz and heritage fesitival
quite simply it is the single best music festival in the united states. the food is amazing. there is over 200 restaurants from new orleans that serve appetizer size portions you could not get to them all. there is 12 stages that have 4 bands per day including a jazz tent, blues tent, gospel tent, african stage, local tents, cajun stage and 2 main liner stages. acts this year included rod stewart, sting, jimmy buffett, jack johnson, jon cleary, lukas nelson, sturgis simpson and all of the best of the local new orleans musicians.

New Orleans Jazz Fest First Weekend
As always, Jazz Fest is a tremendous event. I would give it my highest recommendation without hesitation to any music lover. Both the music, food, heritage, and arts make it an event one could always savor after the event is over. The only slight downside is there is so much great music (and food) to enjoy, it's impossible to see and do it all. Certainly this is a good thing. I have been on the fence about the Big Chief tickets and not sure if it was worth the money. This year I more effectively used all the facilities available in the package and was happier. Particularly good was the VIP bus pass which takes you right up to the VIP lounge. This is MUCH better in the past when paying well over $1000 for a ticket and have to be confined the the normal shuttle which is typically a school bus with no AC. Also for the ticket price, I would expect it to include tokens for at least 2 alcoholic beverages (rather than one) per day. How much extra could this cost compared to the price of the tickets ? However, overall, I was much happier with the Big Chief VIP experience this year and would be willing to recommend this to others who want or need the premium experience at Jazz Fest.

Terrible Sound
The Krewe Shaded seats had terrible sound. You could hardly enjoy the music, because the monitors had a slight delay; so i was hearing two different beats in stereo. I will NOT purchase them ever again.

Gotta love Jazz Fest
Only way to do it is with Big Chief...no chairs or blankets to lug, no fighting for square inches, nice a/c retreat, and great viewing and listening. Worth it if you can afford it.
