Domingo is everlasting!
It's been my lifelong dream to see him in concert, but I don't get to NYC often. When I saw he was going to do a concert performance vs. full length opera in Boston, I thought really hard about it. It was a lot of money. My husband sported me 2 center orchestra tickets for my birthday! Money well spent. Placido may be 77, but you'd never know it. Vocally, he has still has it and then some. Sure, maybe he can't do those wicked high notes like the end of Nessun Dorma now, but who cares! The beauty of his voice is that he always had that baritone quality to his tenor. So much richer and gorgeous than many tenors who sound like they're going to bust a gut in the upper registers. It was a wonderful evening, complemented by Placido Jr and the two sopranos. If you get the chance to see him in concert, don't wait. Just go. You won't be disappointed.

What happened?
The Boch Center was beautiful. The Orchestra was very well directed. Placido Domingo still has a beautiful voice, however the choice of songs was small, unheard of especially after they advertised that it would be the many songs that he has sung over the years. He had two Sopranos that sang with him, but they sang more than he did. They were beautiful singers as well. My son had taken me for a mothers day surprise, and we had to leave during intermission because we feel the event was falsely advertised and it was so disappointing.
