Ratas En Zelo is an all-female, punk band from New York City that replaces the traditional punk guitar with an accordion. Its current and past members hail from El Salvador, Peru, the U.S. and Argentina. Since their first show in 2014 they have played many venues in New York as well as in New Jersey, Minneapolis, California, Chicago, where they were amongst the headliners of Villapalooza Fest 2019, and had a successful four-city Texas tour earlier this year. Locally, they have played the 10th edition of Northside Festival 2018, and New York’s DIY festivals Latino Punk Fest, three years in a row, and Punk Island, in two occasions. Ratas En Zelo released a four-song demo in early 2015, and a full-length album, Despertar, in June 2018.
