REVOCATION IN CONCERT:
When it comes to all-out displays of bone-shattering musical virtuosity, few bands come close to the precision and intensity of technical metal rockers Revocation. The band's blistering, virile sound combines complex instrumental interplay, unbelievably fast drumming, epic soloing, and the blood-curdling growls of frontman David Davidson. Whether they're creating discordant tension with a break down on "Insidious" or showcasing their chops with the irregular rhythms of "Scattering the Flock", Revocation always keeps ticket buyers on their toes with frenetic, muscular performances on tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Boston-based technical metal band Revocation formed in 2000 under the name Cryptic Warning, building a strong local following with their demo recordings and aggressive live shows. They recorded their debut studio LP in 2005 but shelved it due to poor recording quality, and in 2006 they reemerged as Revocation. The band spent two more years refining their sound, and in 2008 they returned to the studio armed with enhanced chops and a clear vision for the album's direction. The result was their long-awaited debut album Empire of the Obscene, a searing collection of technical death metal tracks that the band supported with a self-funded tour. They continued to grow their fanbase over the course of three more heavy-hitting LPs, including a self-titled 2013 album that landed at No. 4 on Billboard's Heatseekers Albums chart. Metal Blade Records took note of their success, and in 2014 they signed Revocation to their roster. Deathless, the band’s debut on the label and fifth album overall, hit shelves in 2014, drawing the band out for another series of adrenaline-filled performances on tour.
