RHONDA VINCENT IN CONCERT:
From her days performing in her family’s bluegrass band The Sally Mountain Show to her celebrated solo career, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rhonda Vincent remains a talented fingerpicker with a voice of gold. The Wall Street Journal called Vincent “the new Queen of Bluegrass”, and it’s easy to why as she nimbly moves between banjo, mandolin, and fiddle at her dynamic live shows. Whether she’s crooning about lost love on “I’ve Forgotten You” or covering country classics like “Beneath Still Waters”, Vincent never fails to captivate with her poise, energy, and honey-toned voice on tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Missouri-born singer-songwriter Rhonda Vincent was born with bluegrass in her blood. A fifth generation musician, she grew up touring throughout the Midwest with her family’s band The Sally Mountain Show. She received her first snare drum at age six, picked up the mandolin at age eight, and in 1970 she recorded her first single just shy of her tenth birthday. After nearly two decades of recording and touring with her family, Vincent made her solo debut in 1988 with the album New Dreams and Sunshine. She released popular albums throughout the ‘90s but really hit the big time in 2006 when her record All American Bluegrass Girl topped the Bluegrass Albums Chart. Since then she has scored four more No. 1s on the chart including 2014’s Only Me, a critically acclaimed release that cemented her place as one of the country’s preeminent contemporary bluegrass artists. A veteran performer known for her warmth and grace, Vincent continues to awe every time she takes the stage on tour.
