Shenseea on Tour
Grammy-nominated artist Shenseea is a dancehall and reggae-influenced performer known for collaborations and attention-grabbing lyrics.
She released her first single, the pulsating "Jiggle Jiggle," in 2016 -- a hit in her home country of Jamaica. Since then, Shenseea has dominated Jamaica's dancehall charts with hits like "Shen Yeng Anthem" and "Trick'a Treat."
Her collaboration with Vybz Kartel on the smash hit single "Loodi" led to buzzworthy collaborations with Sean Paul, Christina Aguilera, Tyga, and Kanye West on his album Donda, which earned Grammy nominations for Best Rap Album and Album of the Year. Her feature on West's Donda album led Shenseea to become the first female dancehall artist to hit the Billboard Hot 100 in 17 years.
In 2022, Shenseea collaborated with Megan Thee Stallion on the hit single "Lick" from Shenseea's 2022 debut album, Alpha, which landed at No. 2 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart. In a 2022 interview with W magazine, Shinseea said that she met Megan Thee Stallion at a party, exchanged numbers and got her to appear on a track after she sent her the song and said "she'd sound really dope on it." The song was "Lick."
Shenseea's shows are known for explosive performances that fuse dancehall, rap and reggae.
Shenseea Live in Concert
Born Chinsea Linda Lee in the Jamaican parish of Manchester, Shenseea was raised primarily by her aunt and uncle while her mother worked in-home jobs in neighboring towns.
In an interview with W magazine, Shenseea explained her start in music. "Being raised in a Christian home, I wasn't allowed to listen to dancehall ... so I had no exposure to it until I had to take transportation by myself to get to high school. I would hear it in buses, taxis, on kids' phones in school. That's when I found out that I could rap."
Shenseea's first performance was at a church service when she was eight, where she sang an a capella version of Whitney Houston's "Greatest Love of All."
