The Southeastern Louisiana Lions baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana. The team competes in the Southland Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. The Lions play their home games at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field, which is located on the university's campus.
The Lions have won two Southland Conference championships, in 2014 and 2022. They have also appeared in the NCAA Tournament over a half dozen times. The Lions have also had a number of players who have gone on to play professional baseball, with the most notable being left-handed pitcher Wade Miley.
Miley played for the Southeastern Louisiana Lions before embarking on his successful MLB career. He made his MLB debut in 2011 and has played for multiple teams, including the Arizona Diamondbacks, Boston Red Sox, Seattle Mariners, Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros, and Cincinnati Reds. Miley has been known for his consistency and ability to eat innings as a starting pitcher.
The Lions have played their home games at Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field since 1980. The stadium is named after Pat Kenelly, who was the head baseball coach at Southeastern Louisiana from 1964 to 1980. Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field has a capacity of 2,500 people.
