TANK IN CONCERT:
Despite his four No. 1 albums on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, singer and producer Tank maintains a surprisingly low profile — a fact his fans are perfectly okay with, considering it only means more Tank for them. A favorite with the ladies for his seductive lyrics and onstage swagger, Tank is a skilled performer on stage, continually impressing fans with his live vocals. Boasting backup singers that could hold their own as solo acts, Tank's 2013 live shows hit all the right notes, building excitement for his 2014 tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Raised in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., Tank passed up an opportunity to play college football in order to pursue music. After landing a gig as a backup singer for R&B superstar Ginuwine, Tank made his solo debut in 2001 with Force of Nature, topping the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart — an impressive feat for a debut album by a newcomer. Following the 2007 release of Sex, Love & Pain — another No. 1 — Tank formed R&B supergroup TGT with Tyrese and Ginuwine. Due to contract issues, the trio wouldn't release an album until six years later, but it was worth the wait — 2013's Three Kings peaked at No. 1, spawning several hit singles and a US tour.
