THE AIRBORNE TOXIC EVENT IN CONCERT:
Back in 2008, the Airborne Toxic Event infiltrated the airwaves with their driving rock number "Sometime Around Midnight," generating significant buzz and receiving the seal of approval from none other than U2. Today, the Airborne Toxic Event leave fans awestruck with lush viola melodies and catchy guitar riffs during their fierce live shows. The band's performances wouldn't be complete without signature hits like "Changing" as they treat audiences to a fan-oriented show on their exciting string of 2014 tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Los Angeles native Mikel Jollett began penning songs after a series of unfortunate life events occurred in 2006, coincidentally meeting drummer Daren Taylor around the same time and thus forming the Airborne Toxic Event. Through mutual friends and chance encounters, keyboardist Steven Chen, upright bassist Noah Harmon, and viola player Anna Bulbrook were added to the lineup, resulting in the band's signature orchestral rock sound. Their 2008 debut album was met with favorable reviews and spent eight weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart, followed by extensive touring and regular late-night talk show appearances. 2011's All At Once peaked at No. 5 on the US Rock charts and 2013's Such Hot Blood followed soon after, both receiving acclaim among popular music blogs and magazines. The Airborne Toxic Event packs a serious punch live and are sure to have audiences rocking out at their festival dates in 2014.
