The Black Keys in Concert
Guitarist/singer Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney make up the blues rock powerhouse that is The Black Keys. The duo has come a long way from their early days recording in an Akron, Ohio, basement to their current ability to sell out tickets to a Madison Square Garden concert in just 15 minutes.
After their 2002 debut dubbed "The Big Come Up," The Black Keys developed an underground following which they satiated with intimate tours and new releases every couple years. The 2010 unveiling of "Brothers" marked the start of their commercial success, as tracks like "Howlin' for You" and "Tighten Up" received regular rotation on Top 40 stations nationwide. Not to mention the three Grammy Awards the group took home for Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for "Tighten Up" and Best Recording Package.
The group's studio effort, 2011's chart-topping "El Camino," incorporated surf rock and rockabilly influences which pleased many and earned them another four Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album.
The Black Keys are kicking off a 2019 North American Tour called "Let's Rock" as a headliner at the Life Is Beautiful Festival in Las Vegas, NV on Sept. 21. Modest Mouse will be touring with them on all dates. Openers at other select shows include Shannon & The Clams, *repeat repeat, and Jessy Wilson.

The Black Keys' ninth studio album, "Let's Rock," was released on June 28, 2019 via Easy Eye Sound/Nonesuch Records. Auerbach says, "When we're together we are The Black Keys, that's where that real magic is, and always has been since we were sixteen." "Let's Rock" has received critical praise, with Paste saying, "If you want something you can crank up at backyard barbecues or in the car with the windows down, well, The Black Keys have two words for you, and they're in the album title." and The Wall Street Journal adds, "The Black Keys have mastered the form of guitar-based music, and the craft at work on these dozen songs is something to behold."
