THE BUNNY THE BEAR IN CONCERT:
Post-hardcore outfit The Bunny the Bear has shaken up the experimental metal scene with a wide-ranging sound that incorporates genres as diverse as synthpop, alt rock, and electronica. It all comes together perfectly at their frenetic live shows, where frontman Matthew Tybor -- aka "The Bunny" -- screams his vocals with savage intensity while the band unleashes a furious sonic assault. Singer Haley Roback’s serene vocals and soaring melodies provide the perfect counterpoint to the band's heavy-hitting sound. Whether ticket buyers are thrashing in front of the stage or observing the magnificent mayhem from afar, The Bunny the Bear always impresses with their aggressive playing chops, adrenaline-fueled showmanship, and high-octane sets on tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
The Bunny the Bear was formed in Buffalo, NY in 2008 by Matthew Tybor ("The Bunny") and Chris Hutka ("The Bear"), co-vocalists who took their nicknames from the masks they wore at the band's early shows. After earning a reputation as a potent live act, the group independently released their self-titled debut album in 2010. The record caught the attention of Victory Records, and in 2011 The Bunny the Bear signed to the label and released their sophomore LP If You Don't Have Anything Nice to Say... That album cracked the Top 40 on the Billboard Heatseakers chart, leading to extensive touring with bands like Funeral for a Friend, Escape the Fate, and Blood on the Dance Floor. The group's rise continued with the albums The Stomach For It (2012), Stories (2013), and Food Chain (2014), all three of which also burned up the Heatseekers chart. In 2014 Hutka left the band to focus on his family and a solo career, and Tybor's longtime friend Haley Roback stepped in to assume clean vocal duties. She made her recording debut with The Bunny the Bear on their 2015 album A Liar Wrote This, and continues to be a key player during their electrifying performances on tour.
