TRUST IN CONCERT:
Canadian darkwave act Trust, a.k.a. Robert Alfons, continues to explore the moodier side of synthpop with his bristling sawtooth synths and exquisitely morose vocals. Alfons is a dynamic live performer, shifting his quicksilver voice deftly between falsetto highs and baritone lows as a blend of dark, pulsating synths and beats propel his icy compositions forward. Performing solo in the wake of former collaborator Maya Posteptski's departure, Alfons brings more energy to the table than ever before, flooring fans with his intensity and vocal range at his dance-worthy live shows.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Trust was formed in 2010 by Toronto-based musicians Robert Alfons and Maya Postepski. The duo released their debut single "Candy Walls" in 2011 to considerable critical acclaim, attracting attention from label execs and ultimately signing a deal with prominent Canadian imprint Arts & Crafts. Their success continued in 2012 with the release of their debut album TRST, a glittering slice of darkwave pop that generated significant buzz and landed on several year-end lists. Shortly after the release, Postepski left to focus on her role in the band Austra, leaving Alfons to go it alone on the writing and production of Trust's sophomore album. The result was 2014's Joyland, another ominous slice of critically acclaimed synthpop that has fans eagerly awaiting Trust's next round of tour dates.
