About Zombie Burlesque
Zombie Burlesque Live
The setup for Zombie Burlesque is simple: It's 1958 in America's Atomic Era, and the President has cut a deal with zombie invaders to allow the living and the dead to live among each other. Pretty straightforward, right? Well, zombies have their own cultural rites and impulses too, and the show brings zombie stars like Scary Grant, Elizabeth Terror and Audrey Hellborn to the stage for a sexy cabaret-style musical revue that features dancing, singing and comedy — plus magic, contortionism and dizzying acrobatics. The V Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino's Miracle Mile Mall turns into "Club Z," where a cast of zombies welcomes a human audience for a show about life and death and everything in between. The show borrows themes from classic mid-century horror films and expresses them through ravishing Vegas burlesque with a live big band revving the party atop the split stage (and a lot of fake blood). Audience participation brings an interactive element to every show — for anyone looking for a good time, Zombie Burlesque is a uniquely unforgettable thing to do in Las Vegas.
Zombie Burlesque Background
Veteran Las Vegas producer David Saxe opened his comedy-burlesque zombie musical in 2013 at the 400-seat V Theater. Inside of Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino's Miracle Mile Mall, The V Theater (which becomes "Club Z" for Zombie Burlesque) is adjacent to Saxe's eponymous Saxe Theater, where he launched the smash hit Vegas! The Show. The son of a Vegas showgirl and a Rat Pack bandleader, Saxe brought on choreographer Tiger Martina for Zombie's dance numbers, and the show has been a staple on the Strip ever since. Six nights a week, Zombie Burlesque welcomes ticket holders 16 years of age or older. Above the V Theater, the Veranda Bar with its open-air feel is a great spot for pre or post-show drinks. Bloody Mary, anyone?
