In 2012, Swedish DJ and producer Alesso scored his first No. 1 single, played to a crowd of 60,000 at Britain’s Milton Keynes Bowl, and was selected by Madonna to open her MDNA tour – and he was just 21. Under the mentorship of Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso, the progressive house wunderkind had already made a name for himself among electronic music fans with a huge sound and strong live presence that belied his age. After a string of acclaimed productions and remixes for the likes of Avicci, Tiesto, and Kaskade, Alesso established himself as an artist in his own right in with original productions “Years,” featuring Mathew Koma, and “Calling (Lose My Mind),” which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Dance chart. His 2013 collaboration with Calvin Harris “Under Control” has become a staple on his Uprising live performance tour, which ticket buyers have described as a decidedly euphoria-inducing experience.
