Bringing friends to see a production of a musical that I had first seen decades ago, I was excited to share the experience with them. I had revered the production and was anxious to get their reactions to the spectacle. We made our way to out seats at the music hall and squeezed ourselves into the less then adequate seats. But were still ready for a good time. My heart beat stronger and faster as the lights went down and the overture throbbed into the silent theatre. As the lights slowly rose I the chorus began there moanful cries of distress and pain. The overall effect was ominous but the voices were powerful and Javert played by Josh Davis showed his strength as a leading character. Lead actor Nick Cartell (Jean Valjean) was talented and pleasant enough to the ear but lacked the depth and maturity of previous actors who have played the part. As the production went along it appeared it was to be an aural eargasm for the audience. It also appeared that this production was to be one without much light. Scene after scene the cast sang and danced admirably in the scarce lighting. It became evident that this was done on purpose to hide the constantly changing scene changes that occurred through out the show, but what good is an atmospheric set if you can't see it. The staging over all was entertaining although at times, while performing solos, the actors seemed to wonder around the stage while standing center stage and emoting the musical number would have made the aria much more powerful. The battle scenes were handled with ease and were probably the high light of the production. The remainder of the production was performed well enough but the final scene and the antithesis of the show was so dark it was hard to elicit the emotion one wanted to experience. Over all it was a sufficient production but overall I would say that I would have gotten just as much from sitting at home listening to the soundtrack in the dark.

This production of Les Miserables out of the park!
Probably the best musical I have ever seen and I have seen Phantom in NYC. I had goosebumps listening to the performance. The collection of talent was amazing.

LES MIZ
Les Miz was the 1st play/musical I had ever gone to, and it didn't disappoint! I was amazed at the stage props/back drops and how everything flowed so well, and you could tell the actors were passionate about playing their parts. Overall amazing, and I would definitely recommend to anyone!

Les Mis did not miss!
Wow! Dallas did NOT disappoint. The entire experience was top notch. Staff was outstanding from parking to ushers, very friendly and assisting folks on a rainy afternoon. The performance was magnificent and I noticed that every character, no matter how big their part, executed their part beautifully. I didn’t expect to get chills from so many different performers. Bravo!

Wonderful!
The cast was excellent, amazingly talented. I loved this production.
The traffic controllers after the show need some training; they contributed to the delays rather than helped.
Also the couple behind us wrinkled their candy package the WHOLE show. And crunched. Why would loud snacks be sold before a show and no one say "please don't eat during the show" or "please be quiet during the show"?
