U2 is better than this
Tulsa in BOK for tour opening show. I saw them in Chicago at 360 tour and it was great- to be talked about still. Technical stage and presentation was impressive, allowing for improvement as the tour moves on. Musically professional and gave it a good effort. Crowd was flat so the band was flat, or the other way around. BOK acoustics are not great and this time (upper rear) was poorer than usual. I'm a fan and have listened to most of their work so much was familiar. My wife felt sort of left out- few of the many well aired songs were played. I applaud U2's social activism but, in the end, I've little idea what the message was. So I anticipated much and received some of it.

U2 finally!
After trying to see U2 twice before and having both shows cancelled, we weren’t quite sure if the third time was going to be the charm or if we would have struck out. Definitely charmed in Tulsa! Besides being visually stunning and engaging, we loved how much the band works so hard to breathe new life into old songs. This effort makes the songs still feel relevant and alive. We absolutely loved this show and love this band even more.

An incredible show that reconfigures a sense of space and screen for large audience. The storytelling is quite intelligent and expressive through the juxtaposition of physical performance, multi-channel video and new technologies. The themes of the albums are heightened by the strong symbolism established with these elements - quite a feat in itself, regardless of the strength and energy of the performers. Should not be missed.

Third time is a charm
I saw U2 for the third time in my life in Tulsa with my wife. It was 2 hours and 40 minutes of not knowing what to expect. I had seen them before for the Elevation tour in Dallas and the 360 degree tour in Norman. Both shows were exceptional. This one topped it. Partly because I was able to experience it with my wife and partly because their show was very memorable. There may have been a few songs that I wished they had played but they more than made up with it by playing songs they never had ‘Acrobats’... my only regret is that I didn’t buy the two tickets next to me so our oldest son and daughter could have seen it. Although that would have been made their future concert experience a bit less exciting because the bar was set so high. It still amazes me to this day that 4 men have created and continue to create an amazing catalog of music. They are worth every penny of the price. I find myself checking their upcoming dates to see if my schedule will accommodate a small trip. This ranks in my top 5 of all time and I have had the pleasure of seeing some amazing artists. Don’t miss this EXPERIENCE..

U2 Tulsa opening night
The new songs sounded very good live and was awesome to see first ever performance of Acrobat and my first time to see Who’s Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses. 18th U2 concert and they are still the best.

Disappointed
Sound was terrible in section 304. Guitars overwhelmed Bono’s voice & were screechy. Mostly new music so didn’t love set list. Timing was awkward & audience would start clapping thinking a song was over but it wasn’t, then no clapping at end...destroyed the crowd’s energy. Stage & graphics were cool.

Always a wild ride!
The boys never disappoint! The beginning of the show was pure electricity! They played with fire and passion. Seemed happy to be back in front of their fans. So glad I was there!

Over the top . . .
The stars are for the venue, not U2--I would give them a 2 if it was an option. I was disappointed in the show. I saw them in Tulsa on the launch of the tour. I've been to hundreds of shows and had high expectations, especially given the high ticket price for crappy seats (six rows from the top of the venue). There's simply too much going on with the stage and the enormous video display that ran the entire length of the venues floor. Rarely did I feel that they were playing as a unit/band as Bono would be on one end, The Edge somewhere in the middle and the rhythm section mostly confined to the main stage. If I wanted to watch videos, I can do that at home for free. It was also somewhat surprising that they didn't play some of their number #1 hits, instead performing stuff from the new album. And PLEASE if you're one of those who wants to stand the whole show buy tickets on the floor!! it was annoying have the woman in front of me stand up on all the popular songs.
Few bands in rock music history have reached the level of superstardom (and have maintained the staying power) of Dublin-based band U2. Due to a winning combination of innovative, ever-evolving songwriting, spectacular live shows, and front-man Bono's penchant for political/humanitarian endeavors, U2 have managed to remain an A-list act since emerging onto the music scene with their debut album Boy in 1980. With phenomenal album sales (every album they've released since 1987's The Joshua Tree has hit Billboard's number one spot), a plethora of hit singles ("New Years Day, " "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "Pride," "I Still haven't Found What I'm looking For," "With or Without You," "Mysterious Ways," Beautiful Day," -- and the list goes on) U2 have established themselves as the premier rock band of the 1980s and far beyond. Their sound has evolved from post-punk (guitarist The Edge created a signature sound with his sweeping, delay-heavy guitar work), to arena rock, to blues-inspired rock, to electronic/techno pop and back again. With their 2005 release, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, U2 treat fans to sounds both classic and new-- reminding us exactly why these Dubliners have managed to become one of the most successful bands in rock history.
