Washington Commanders at FedExField
As the Washington team builds its legacy as the Washington Commanders, patrons of FedExField can look forward to new and exciting stadium offerings and experiences, from new gameday entertainment to a chance to experience the unique local culture through partnerships with area artists and food vendors. At FedExField, the excitement starts well before kickoff, as fans are encouraged to tailgate with other members of the Commanders community in the parking lots before the start of every home game. From the moment the team takes the field until the last second on the clock, fans come together to excitedly cheer on the Burgundy & Gold and their favorite Washington players.
Prepare for a spirited fan experience at FedExField during a Washington Commanders game! The Commanders Entertainment Team and Marching Band greet fans for a rousing pre-game show. Then, during halftime, the band leads the stadium in singing the team's fight song while the Entertainment Team performs on the field. The Commanders Entertainment Team is one of the league's most diverse groups and includes dancers, gymnasts, breakers, b-boys and b-girls and Beat Ya Feet dancers. Performances aim to bring to life the rich culture of D.C.'s world-renowned and iconic dance scene through high-energy, hip hop-based choreography incorporating tricks, stunts, visuals, Beat Ya Feet and elements of street funk. The Marching band is one of only two professional football marching bands in the country and the oldest in the history of the NFL, originally founded in 1937. These festivities ensure that the excitement and momentum continue through the second half.

Washington Commanders History
Even the most devoted fans are often surprised to hear that the Washington Commanders (formerly known as the Washington Football Team and Washington Redskins) were founded as the Boston Braves in 1932 and are one of the original members of the NFL's Eastern Division. In 1937 they moved to Washington, where they won their first game in D.C. against the New York Giants, and have since become one of the most recognizable professional sports franchises in history, featuring multiple legendary coaches, 19 members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and one recipient of the Walter Payton Man of The Year Award, Darrell Green. A proud and storied franchise, the team has won five World Championship titles including the 1937 and 1942 National Football League Championship games, as well as Super Bowls XVII, XXII and XXVI.
