In 2010, he released an independent biopic called "Ghetto Stories," which portrays his and Lil Boosie's difficult upbringing.
Webbie was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His mother passed away at a young age and he had some trouble with the law yet writing rhymes was a way for Webbie to stay away from prison or good and solidify his promising career. Webbie helped make the independent label Trill Entertainment a success story after it was signed for a distribution deal at Asylum Records. He is influenced by Master P, Geto Boys and UGK. The Southern rapper helped pave the way for a number of new acts including Lil Wayne and Pitbull with a trademark 'dirty south' sound and attitude.
