Willie Nelson
The greatest ever. A chance to see Willie even in very hot conditions. It was worth it

Misrepresented & Disappointed
I was really excited to see, a few days before the event, a lineup announced by Blackbird that included in this tour Neil Young, Allison Krauss, Van Morrison, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Brandi Carlisle, Nate Rateliff and others. Unfortunately, these performers did not make it to The Woodlands (Houston) venue (but are performing at other venues). Sturgill Simpson and Ryan Bingham are the real deal. Lukas Nelson is a no brainer. Edie Brickell is a good bet. But Particle Kid and Head and the Heart were a real downer for the crowd that was revved up beforehand and either fell asleep or bagged it in. Willie & Family did not come on until 10pm, and only played for a short while, and didn't play some of his old favs in favor of his new stuff, which is fine, but after waiting that long in the heat (90+ degrees) I really wanted to hear some more of the older stuff.

One one of the best performances that have been there.

Great show, First time at Venue
My wife and I really enjoyed the show. It was great seeing Willie play with his sister and 2 of his sons. He played several songs for about an hour showing great energy for a man in his mid to late 80's. Our only disappointment was that he didn't play one of his recent songs Something You Get Through. Overall a good show and we are so glad we got to see him live. This was my first time at this venue. It was surprisingly easy to park, gain access, buy refreshments and find our seats. It was a little hot, but that is to be expected for an outdoor venue in Houston in July. No bugs though.

Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.
