Pretenders/Rails
Both bands were great but when The Pretenders performed the sound was not great. There were some adjustments made after a while but it still needed some adjustments.

The Pretenders
The Pretenders and their opening band The Rails were excellent! A very high energy concert. Chrissy Hynde is a treasure!

Bucket list concert!
The Pretenders were always one of my favorite groups and I had never seen them live. Last time they were in town, I was on vacation. For the first couple of songs, Chrissy's voice could barely be heard. They must have fixed something because it got better. Guitar player was awesome. Of course, I loved seeing Chrissy "rocking out" in her senior years. If you did know how long she's been doing this, you wouldn't have guessed her age. Seating is a little cramped at the Taft theater but it's a great place to see a concert. No bad seats! This one is now checked off my bucket list although I do hope I get another opportunity to see them again!

Chrissy is a GIANT as a performer
The show was spectacular, the energy and passion was fantastic. It is often over looked, maybe because she seems tough, how beautiful her voice is. My friend who was not all that familiar with them was absolutely blown away. Don't miss it.

Real Rock Show
The Pretenders put on a real rock show at the Murat Theater. I saw Evanescence the night before with a 28 piece orchestra which they were good but it just didn't feel like a rock show. The following night I saw Thirty Seconds to Mars and that certainly was not a rock show but more like a Jared Leto ego fest. The Pretenders didn't need an orchestra to put on a great show or have to ask the crowd to jump, or come on down front and make some noise like Jared Leto. The Pretenders played a great set with a few new songs but enough classics to make everyone happy. The band played two encores and a very short drum solo. No crazy production, back up singers, or dancers on stage; Just a straight forward performance of well written songs featuring guitars, keys, and drums all played live. Chrissy Heid's banter between songs was appropriate and insightful; No radical political views. I stood in the back row of the balcony (which is really a great vantage point) and the crowd was very respectful about not filming the show. Overall, the Pretenders put on a great show ant the Murat is a good venue for that kinda show.

Chrissie Is A Legend!!
Chrissie, with Martin Chambers has put together another kick ass rock and roll band for this version of the Pretenders. Great show. Chrissie has earned her legend status and still struts the boards with confidence and sexual energy. One of the great voices in the history of rock music. Show was staged beautifully, simply and tastefully, putting the focus where it should be-on the musicians.

Pretenders Rocked it!!
What a great band, They still can rock it out! 2 encores were fantastic. Murat is still a favorite venue of mine for concerts. Smooth getting in and out of venue.

Legendary!
Chrissy Hynde is a legend! My first time seeing the Pretenders and I loved it! Her voice was very dynamic! She was friendly with the crowd even bringing up a guy to dance while they played a song. And she was sooooo sexy. Guitarist and drummer were very skilled and had great stage presence.
The Pretenders in Concert
The Pretenders cross the bridge between punk, new wave and pop music like no other band, with genre-defining songs like "I'll Stand By You," "Back On The Chain Gang" and "Don't Get Me Wrong." The band has sold over 25 million albums and founder & leader Chrissie Hynde is one of contemporary music's greatest songwriters. Chrissie's 2015 memoir Reckless: My Life As a Pretender, was hailed by the New York Times upon its release as "honest and distinctive... a love letter to rock and roll." After delivering 2016's unflinchingly head-strong Alone album (produced by the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach), the Pretenders continue to tour worldwide.
The Pretenders on Tour
The Pretenders are set for an extensive North American tour in 2020 with Journey to feature all new production and hits from start to finish in the 60+ date tour. Fans can expect to hear iconic classics from The Pretenders and Journey.
