1st Time; Lacking past hits; short show
Chrissy amazed me. She looks fantastic and as always, bring out my inner girl rocker. I was obsessed with The Pretenders in the '80s. Every song rocked but I was completely disappointed I didn't hear some of my favorites, especially "Night In My Veins".

really disappointing
Chrissie belted out songs at a feverish pitch that made you think she had somewhere to be afterwards. The concert ended at 9:50 and ended with a one song encore. compared to other shows on the tour this was not up to par. This will be my last Pretenders tour.

Enjoyable show, with a few quirks
Chrissie Hynde really rocked it. She is quite an entertainer, and her band was awesome! Found it a bit controlling that people weren't allowed to use cell phones to take photos or video -- as is common practice at all other rock shows. Also: A bit disappointing that set list didn't include several hits. Still, an enjoyable evening. Lots of fun and smiles.

Pretenders rock
Great show from the Pretenders, wish it could have been longer, only 1hr 20mins, but great music none the less. Only complaint was the sound balance, Chrissie's voice was drowned out at times by the music.

Badass and adorable wrapped up into one
Great night! Chrissy is so personable and really connects with her fans. She looked amazing, the band was beyond words talented, and she sounds great. And......most importantly, she did not get up there with any political agenda. We attend concerts for enjoyment-not political lectures. Finally someone who remembers what that is.

The Rails and The Pretenders - GREAT SHOW
from the warmth and grace Ms. Hynde showed the audience to the unexpected gems in the set list, the show was SPECTACULAR. Wait, don't get me wrong - FANTASTIC! I didn't miss the hits not played and so appreciated the Cuban Slide... completely blown away with appreciation, and much respect for the guitarist getting JHS so righteous. I know I can speak for the crowd and say a great time was had by all, and we would've stayed for more encores all night into Cincinnati dawn (Thumbelina, Hymn to Her - I can't garden without these ear worms!)

Average and Short
If I can give a 3 or higher I am usually going to recommend a performer. The Pretenders barely got there. The are legend so I give them a pass, you should see them they still can bring it. My lowering was based on they only played one hour exactly, minus encores. I think they had to leave a lot of very awesome songs in their bag as a result, such as Mystery Achievement as an example. Taft Theater is good venue.

Disappointing
This was my second time seeing them because I love her and their music. This time wasn't as good as the last show I saw a few years ago? It was pretty mellow and a very short set. The ope ing a Band was "The Rails". I didn't really enjoy their music. Later in her set she included the singer wirh her and they sang together? I didn't care for it , and wanted to hear the Pretenders rock. They are touring with other bands , so maybe it will be better without the Rails?

Fantastic Show!!!
I admit I was a little bit apprehensive before the show. I don't go to too many concerts these days and I was wondering how they would sound and whether Chrissie's voice would still exude that tough sexiness that I fell in love with so many years ago. I needn't have worried. She sounded as good as ever and the band absolutely rocked it! The venue was perfect for them too! Great Show, not to be missed!
The Pretenders in Concert
The Pretenders cross the bridge between punk, new wave and pop music like no other band, with genre-defining songs like "I'll Stand By You," "Back On The Chain Gang" and "Don't Get Me Wrong." The band has sold over 25 million albums and founder & leader Chrissie Hynde is one of contemporary music's greatest songwriters. Chrissie's 2015 memoir Reckless: My Life As a Pretender, was hailed by the New York Times upon its release as "honest and distinctive... a love letter to rock and roll." After delivering 2016's unflinchingly head-strong Alone album (produced by the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach), the Pretenders continue to tour worldwide.
The Pretenders on Tour
The Pretenders are set for an extensive North American tour in 2020 with Journey to feature all new production and hits from start to finish in the 60+ date tour. Fans can expect to hear iconic classics from The Pretenders and Journey.
