Great but short
Just saw the Pretenders at the Ryman. Cool venue,my first time there. Really impressed with Crissie Hynde’s vocals, she’s never sounded better. They rocked the house, had everyone on their feet except for balcony, what’s up with those people? Anyway my only complaint was the show ran only 70 minuets total, way too short for the main act. Can’t remember the last time a show was this short not counting sickness or serious impairment.

Chrisse was amazing
Still has rock n roll voice, attitude and stage presence. Sounds like she did 30+ years ago. Ryman is a great, intimate venue; guitarist is incredible. Only ‘slight’ knock - I understand she is promoting her new album, but would have preferred to hear more of the classics. I would say it was about a 50/50 split.

Pretenders - STILL Awesome!
What a tremendous show at the Rhyman! Chrissie and the band sound amazing and put on a terrific show. Hope they come back to Nashville sooner rather than later!

Pretenders a must see
The Pretenders did not disappoint. Chryssie Hynde's voice is as strong as ever. Played a good mix of old and new and especially enjoyed the stuff from the first album and Cuban Slide. She danced and joked with crowd. It was fun and a far cry from the solo act a couple of years ago when she stomped off the stage halfway through the expected show because of idiots using their cell phones to tape and photograph. That was totally the Rymans fault for not enforcing their own rules - this time the Ryman got it right. Martin Chambers on drums was phenomenal. The bassist and guitarist were as well. The Rails opened and were also a treat. All and all a great show and a must see for any Pretenders fan... only downside was the age of the crowd and their insistence upon sitting through songs that make you HAVE to dance!

Pretenders at the Ryman
The tickets said 7:30 but the warm-up band did not start until 8p. They were simply terrible; almost annoying! We had to leave our seats and go to the lobby for the 30 minutes they played. The Pretenders then came on shortly before 9p and as soon as they started playing, all of the above was quickly forgotten. Great rock and roll band!!!!

Chrissie Hynde and The Pretenders
Chrissie rocked the house as always. I would like to thank her personally for playing "The Cuban Slide". I apologize on behalf of the audience because they should have stood up in appreciation for her playing what I consider one of her best songs ever.
The Pretenders in Concert
The Pretenders cross the bridge between punk, new wave and pop music like no other band, with genre-defining songs like "I'll Stand By You," "Back On The Chain Gang" and "Don't Get Me Wrong." The band has sold over 25 million albums and founder & leader Chrissie Hynde is one of contemporary music's greatest songwriters. Chrissie's 2015 memoir Reckless: My Life As a Pretender, was hailed by the New York Times upon its release as "honest and distinctive... a love letter to rock and roll." After delivering 2016's unflinchingly head-strong Alone album (produced by the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach), the Pretenders continue to tour worldwide.
The Pretenders on Tour
The Pretenders are set for an extensive North American tour in 2020 with Journey to feature all new production and hits from start to finish in the 60+ date tour. Fans can expect to hear iconic classics from The Pretenders and Journey.
