Thankful to see the legend Willie Nelson
Thunderstorms, heat and bad promoters were all forgotten once Willie stepped out on stage. We came to see him perform and were not disappointed. His voice, smile, personality and guitar playing is what we’ll happily remember for the rest of our lives. My husband and I would’ve liked to see the old timers perform but their gigs were rained out. However, we heard the foul mouthed female singers on the pavilion stage before the storm. Ugh. Wish they’d never return. Sorry that David Allan Coe’s guests were disrespected by the venue staff and that he left before performing. Edie was great. Loved seeing her after all these years. HATED that some fool let a politician on stage to spew his nonsense right before the fireworks. That should’ve never been allowed at a concert where we paid to be entertained. The promoters never fully explained what was included with each ticket package. More info was sent in email just a few days before event. Many empty seats would have been filled had Ticketmaster explained all packages and amenities.

Lost acts
I realize the show had no control over the weather, but we missed seeing 6 of the best shows, Willie was great but you could tell he was struggling. Would not spend the high $$$$ to see again.

The guitarist right before willie was the best.
Only wish they had brought out Gene Watson and Johhny Bush on the stage after rain out. Really wanted to see them. Our second year in a row to attend. Love it. Fireworks awesome.

Willie's 4th of July
It was so hot, but the concert and all performances were the best! Drink plenty of water and bring plenty of sunscreen and cover, umbrella or some sort of shade or fan, and enjoy!!

Soggy but good, until the Beto pep rally
David Allen Coe was a no show. Then thunderstorms required everyone to leave the venue for a couple of hours. So pretty much all the bands all the shows from 2-5 were cancelled. In spite of that, it was still a good show, until the Beto pep rally just before fireworks. We paid A LOT for these tickets. I didn't pay for a politician to hop up on stage push his line. I could care less what people's politics are, but please don't push it on me at an event I paid to attend. It really isn't cool.
Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.
