Willie or Bust!
Austin360Ampitheatre is an outstanding venue. Thanks especially to the venue and staff for keeping us all weather aware and safe during the rainstorm delay! Disappointed that Ray Wylie Hubbard didn’t get to perform as he was one of the reasons we drove from Alabama for the concert. Excited to see Lukas Nelson and band performance, as well as Margo Price, Edie Brickell & New Bohemians. Willie Nelson still amazing at 85!! Particularly enjoyed watching Willie as his son took the center light on stage with them. HOWEVER, the political stump was highly inappropriate for this particular event. At a time of celebrating our country’s independence, for a brief moment we were just all united in celebration, until politics had to rear it’s ugly head. Poor choice to include that ugly surprise to an event that we spent our hard earned money to attend.

improve please
Our music was great except Sturgill Simpson was way too loud. The venue is permanent and needs permanent restrooms, not portable ones. And $4 is double too much for bottled water.

Willie picnic
The music was all amazing. The venue sells food and drinks at extremely inflated and ridiculous prices. It definitely takes away from the experience. And to call the event a picnic with no music anywhere near the grass seems silly as well. The lack of shade is also silly.

Great time
2 disappointments: 1. David Allen Coe, who we specifically bought tickets to see, was a no show and 2. Luck lounge closed while we were rained out, way too early. Otherwise, awesome.

A Legend with Pals and Legends in the making
Seeing several generations of Nelson's and many of todays country luminaries play was incredible. My 41st Willie show so as long as he keeps on the road so will I.

There needs to be a schedule sent out prior the event. It sucks having to to track someone down at the event that has them. There was a bit of confusion this year as it said parking open at 11 and gates to event at noon. I got there at 11 sat in my truck for an hour and when I went in had already missed my favorite artist (David Allen Coe). The day is largely family’s and when Raelyn Nelson took the stage they were vulgar and didnt respect the fact there were family’s and kids of all ages. Yes I will go again next year but hope the event coordinator addresses a couple things.

Politics On Imdependence Day?
Music brings people from all walks of life and backgrounds together and Indepence Day is a day for all Americans to celebrate our freedom. Concert was ruined when they decided to parade a politician onto the stage to pitch a campaign speech. No thank you! Let me enjoy the music and one day without politics. Please refund my money.

Was great except for weather!
Was great except for weather & bringing out some politician from El Paso to talk politics which was not the place to do that!

Fun Event, even with the rain delay!
Austin 360 Amphitheater is a great location for this event -- lots of free parking, concessions lines are not too long, and there is a good selection of vendors. We enjoyed the fantastic music and fireworks, but were disappointed by the imposition of a political campaign speech during the show. Nothing is more divisive than a campaigning politician, and this intrusion was unwelcome and inappropriate on Independence Day, when we celebrate what brings us together as Americans – no matter what our differences are on the issues of the day Bad call by whoever allowed this into the program.
Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.
